The brand new Skoda Octavia is going to be unveiled in about a month’s time, but Czech publication Auto Forum has jumped the gun and released some details about the car.
First off, there’s the shot of the side profile, which shows very simple lines, like an extended version of the Rapid sedan. The Octavia’s third-generation incarnation will be bigger by 250 than the outgoing one.
The MQB modular platform will, at the same time, help it keep the weight off as it grows. Because of the Rapid, the Octavia no longer has to play the budget sedan role, so expect all the cool safety features from the Golf VII to be used.
The engine range will include base 1.2-liter TSI with 105 PS, a 1.4-liter TSI with 140 PS and at lots of diesel configurations displacing 1.6- and 2.0-liters, producing from 105 to about 180 horsepower. There will also be a vRS (or RS) version which will come in both diesel and petrol flavors.
