We really thought that Mazda was going to leave the CX-9 crossover as it was until the new generation arrived, but they didn’t as a facelift was unveiled today, one which imitates the look of the smaller but newer CX-5.
The new look for the full-size soft-roaderer will not be shown at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, which takes place at the end of this month, but at the Australian Motor Show, scheduled for October 18th through the 28th
The front end of the CX-9 is very striking and pleasant to look at in our opinion. The “Kodo – Soul of Motion” design language has given it a double-bevel grille and new headlights that flow, unlike the CX-5, which is boxier.
The CX-9 has also been packed with new technology, such as Forward Obstruction Warning, Lane Departure Warning and High Beam Control. In Australia, the vehicle will keep using the same 3.7-liter V6 engine, but other markets might see new units being introduced.
