The fact that this car is called the “2011” Mazda Takeri Concept should give you a hind about it date of birth. And indeed your hunch would be right, because the Takeri was first shown last year at the Tokyo Auto Show in December. After that, we tracked its progress to Geneva, where it made its European debut, and one month later it’s ready to bow to the American public in New York.
The Takeri should be an easy concept for US customers to understand, and that’s because it’s a preview for the next generation of Mazda 6 sedan, bigger and better than before, especially in the fuel-saving department.
The car is designed using the same KODO design language as is going to be used on the production car. It’s speculated that this will officially bow at the 2012 Paris Auto Show as a production model.
