Good news Accord fans: production of the all-new 2013 model has begun at Honda’s Marysville Auto plant in Ohio, and sales will begin next month.
“This new Accord excels in all areas, and it’s being built in a plant that excels in all areas as well – including flexibility, efficiency and quality for the customer,” said Hide Iwata, president and CEO of Honda of America Mfg. “For 30 years, the Accord has been the signature vehicle from Honda, and it remains the industry benchmark in a very competitive segment.”

So what’s the all-new Accord all about? For starters, it’s about safety. the 2013 model year will come with Honda’s first lane departure warning system and collision warning system.

It’s also about economy, as Honda is introducing three new or improved engines. These include a 2.0-liter hybrid system with electric-only driving model. The other two powertrains for the Accord are a 2.4-liter with 181 hp and a 3.5-liter V6 paired to either a 6-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual gearbox.
