Wowzers, I think Walt and Jesse would have loved this thing instead of their old, broken-down RV. This 44-foot home on wheels is a 2008 Monaco Dynasty Renaissance IV, and it is currently up for grabs to the highest bidder with 48,000 miles on its 8.9-liter inline-six Cummins turbodiesel. Fun fact, this retailed for $452,000 back when it was new, but you can now get it for a lot less.
You might be wondering why anybody would spend nearly half a million dollars on a motorhome (or motorcoach) but given all the creature comforts it has to offer, the price tag isn’t all that absurd. Besides, large rigs tend to be extremely expensive – the same goes for semi-trucks with sleeper cabins.

Do people care all that much about how their motorhomes look like on the outside? That’s a serious question. I don’t mean the overall design necessarily, rather all those accent stripes – a lot of luxury RVs tend to have them.

Anyway, this model comes with a dual-tone black and gray exterior, featuring multi-color accent stripes. It also has quad slide-outs with toppers, a one-piece fiberglass roof, a 100-watt rooftop solar panel, satellite TV antenna, air horns, clearance and fog lights, perimeter lighting, window awnings, power-operated door and patio awnings, power-operated boarding steps, a receiver hitch, plus a set of 22.5” alloy wheels with Michelin Energy tires.

Meanwhile you’ve got the air-adjustable suspension with an auto-leveling system (boosting your ride quality), but also a whole bunch of tanks for water, fresh water (it’s a different one), propane, and so on.

Of course, it’s the interior that stands out the most. Let’s start by looking at the so-called cockpit, which features a beige leather power-adjustable captain’s chair, adjustable pedals, sliding side windows, a reverse-view monitor, power-operated sun visors, a Cobra CB radio, two-tone steering wheel, and a Sony multi-disc CD stereo.

Moving on to the living quarters, the first thing you’ll notice is just how much space there is. The ceiling is 84” tall, so even if you’re LeBron James, you’re going to fit just fine inside this motorhome without having to slouch all the time.

We also like the woodgrain and tile floors, recessed lighting, plus the fact that you’ve got air conditioning and heating so that you can park this baby outside in all types of weather. Then there’s the forward lounge area, which boasts a fold-out sofa, a workstation with a swiveling chair, a Sony DVD player and a 32” flat screen TV.

The kitchen area comes with composite countertops, a recessed two-burner propane cooktop, a microwave oven, dual sinks, a refrigerator, plus a two-person dinette and a powder room. At the back, you’ve got the rear bedroom with its queen bed, ceiling fan, another flat screen TV, a built-in dresser, bedside shelves, and even a private bathroom with an enclosed shower. This genuinely looks more like a hotel room rather than a recreational vehicle, although that’s always the point when it comes to motorcoaches.

As for that previously mentioned 8.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel, it was factory rated at 425 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque, with everything going to the dually wheels at the rear via an Allison 300-MH six-speed automatic transmission.
