While sales weren't a reason for Chevrolet to be happy about the Corvette in 1992, this year still gave the GM brand a reason to celebrate. The 1 millionth Corvette got to see the daylight at the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant.
Otherwise, the 1992 Corvette didn't even reach 20,500 units, with the coupe accounting for 14,102 units. A removable top made its way to 5,875 Corvettes, while only 502 customers ordered the ZR1 package.

The Corvette was already an expensive car, with the base coupe, which was fitted with a 350 V8 developing 300 horsepower and paired with a four-speed automatic transmission carrying a $33,635 price tag. The convertible was even more expensive, as the base configuration could be had for $40,145.

The 1992 Corvette convertible in these photos landed on eBay earlier this week courtesy of seller Survivor Classic Cars. The Vette has everything a collector would want from such a convertible, including low mileage and a rear color.

While I won't comment much on its condition because it's obvious this Vette isn't a perfect 10, it's still worth highlighting that the owner didn't want to repaint the car because "they are only original once." Hats off to the owner for trying to keep this Corvette as original as possible, so the paint you see on the body was sprayed by Chevrolet before the Vette rolled off the assembly lines.

The Black Rose Metallic finish was sprayed on 1,886 Corvettes, and the owner says the beige convertible top is also a rare goodie you can hardly find today. They claim the same feature was available on only 1,139 Corvettes, so the colors set this convertible apart from the rest of the 1992 crowd.

The odometer also comes with an intriguing number. The 32,000 miles on the clock are original and documented.

As expected, the car is a highly optioned Corvette, so you'll get leather power seats, power locks, remote mirrors, ride control, cruise control, and air conditioning. Regular maintenance has recently been conducted, and the car now sports new hoses, belts, tires, and a battery. The convertible top is also new, and that's why it looks fantastic.

The 350 V8 LT1 unit under the hood should run and drive, though we're not getting many specifics on this front. I expect the mill to be in perfect shape, especially thanks to regular maintenance, so this Corvette should be able to take you wherever you want to go. Theoretically, you should also be able to drive it home if you're committed to a purchase.

And speaking about a purchase, the digital battle for this Corvette is underway, with the top offer exceeding $1,000 a few minutes ago. However, the owner also configured a reserve, and anyone interested in getting this Vette without a fight should pay $17K.
