I don't know about you, but Mayfair Maize was my absolute favorite color for a Firebird, and despite many people claiming it makes the car look like a taxi (which it DOES NOT), I think this finish is gorgeous and perfectly highlights the line of this beautiful Pontiac.
Someone on eBay claims their Firebird stands out from the crowd thanks to another rare paint.

Their 1968 example rolled off the assembly lines painted in Autumn Bronze, and while I couldn't verify their claim, seller mjmsup1 says only approximately 1,000 units received this rare color. Of the more than 107K Firebirds produced in 1968, the seller claims "only 1,003 came in Autumn Bronze," and their example looks almost perfectly from every angle.

I won't comment much on what the eyes can see because this Firebird is obviously a head-turning machine. Everything is nearly in tip-top shape, though buyers shouldn't believe it's a perfect 10 Firebird. It still needs occasional touches to be a true collectible, but it's an easy project nonetheless.

All numbers match, and the engine under the hood is a 350 V8 that starts, runs, and drives "like a champ."

The seller says they are the third owner, with the second one buying the car from the original owner in 1986. At that point, the Firebird had only 13,507 miles on the clock. It retained its low mileage, with the odometer now revealing 23,550 miles. They are original, as is nearly everything else on this Firebird.

The only non-original parts are the custom ceramic-coated Hedman headers and the Flowmaster exhaust system. Still, the owner says they have the original parts if you want to restore the Firebird to its original glory. I'm certain the next buyer will want to do this, as it'd be a shame not to keep this Firebird 100% original, especially considering the super-rare color.

The car sells with original documents, including the sales brochure. The reason for selling the Firebird is unfortunate, and it's why the owner says they need to find a new home for the car as fast as possible: they are moving to London, so the Firebird must remain in the States in someone else's garage.

As anyone can imagine, the Firebird isn't selling cheaply, but the owner wants to increase the chances of finding a new home with a no-reserve auction. It means the highest bidder will take it home regardless of the selling price, so it's no surprise the battle is already fierce. The top offer has already surpassed the $20K threshold, but considering the auction will end in approximately four days, the selling price should increase significantly.

The Firebird is parked in Clarkston, Michigan, and considering the low miles, you'll probably want to take the car on a trailer.
