The 1968 Dodge Charger offers an immersive driving experience without even trying, but can you imagine how it would feel to hoon one of these early models animated by a 440, knowing that you could always drop its original 383 right back in? A strange question this may be and yet it perfectly defines the example sitting before us.
1968 was a special year for the Dodge Charger, since this marked the switch to the second generation of the muscle car. This left the lavish aspirations of the 1966-1967 behind, going for a sleeker, sexier look and focusing on offering more affordable performance.

The car we have here didn't leave the factory with the base two-barrel 383, packing the four-barrel instead. Nevertheless, the Dodge received the 440 V8 that came standard on the R/T model, as part of an upgrade it received two years ago.

As for the almost sleeper-like paint you see on the Charger, this was applied twelve years ago. However, it received some extra care during a recent "restoration" that also involved other benefits.

As such, the 68 Charger was gifted with new wheels, as well as the fresh rubber that goes with this. And since that 440 needs to be able to express its feelings and emotions, a custom exhaust supplied by Flowmaster was installed.

The Mopar machine, which currently spends its time in Cali, is now looking for a new owner and you'll be able to grab it by checking out the Instagram posts below - yes, you adrenaline junkies, there's a video allowing us to listed to the voice of that mighty V8, so make sure to turn up the volume.

Especially given the pair of motors associated with this Charger, its price isn't exactly light. So, if you're willing to adorn your garage with this one, be prepared to part ways with $49,000.
