It's that time of the year again when all sorts of companies with more or less strong ties with the automotive industry begin to preview their modified vehicles ahead of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
The Ford Bronco name is enjoying more headline space lately than it would be usual for a model that's been dead for quite a while, and that's because the Blue Oval company is getting ready to revive it over the next couple of years.

That's enough to get a lot of people excited considering how popular the first generation was back in its day. But that's not the only reason: Ford is currently at its best when it comes to SUVs and pickup trucks, so as long as the designers don't inexplicably mess things up, the new model should be a hit.

With that in mind, lubricant-specialist WD-40 thought it would be the perfect time to create a custom Bronco based on the 1966 model. It enlisted the help of the Vaccar Company to give the aging SUV a fresh look, all covered in the iconic blue and yellow colors of the WD-40 spray cans.

Apart from the paint scheme, the Ford also received a modern Ford EcoBoost turbo engine, even though there's no mention about which one exactly was used. It also appears to have beefed up suspension and way too large off-road tires which threaten to scrape off the wheel arches at the first bump in the road.

The one-off Ford Bronco will be on display at the WD-40 booth at this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas starting October 31. Next year, the SUV will be sold at an auction, with the proceeds going eventually going to Childhelp, an organization that provides support to abused and neglected children.

"The WD-40/SEMA Cares Boosted Bronco allows us to pay tribute to traditional hot-rodding standards of execution and finish with a first of its kind vehicle,” says Aaron Vaccar. “The EcoBoost drivetrain will give the cult classic a modern spin and turbocharged power and efficiency for the future. There could not be a more iconic brand than WD-40 Brand to partner with on a vehicle sure to generate excitement from Bronco, off-road and automotive enthusiasts nationwide.”

The image you see up top is the only one available at the moment, so if you want to see more of the Vaccar/WD-40 Ford Bronco, you'll have to pay a visit to the latter's booth at SEMA. And make sure to bring everything you need to have lubricated as well while you're there.
