When a rendering showcasing a NASA-branded Ford Model A hot rod enters the scene, one might wonder about the creative process that led to such a development. If only we had such a pixel painting around to use as an example...
This eye-catching virtual build comes from Timothy Adry Emmanuel, an Indonesian digital artist whose passion for U.S. car culture spreads from oldies like the one shown here to modern monsters such as this Charger.
As the aficionado explains in the first Instagram post below, this work is a tribute to a real-world build that's currently being completed by one of his teachers, Scott Robertson. We're talking about the American concept artist whose transportation designs we've seen in movies such as Steven Spielberg's Minority Report - you can check out the contraptions in the pair of Insta posts at the bottom of the story.
The rendering is based on the 1930 Ford Model A pickup - at least when talking about this age, it's hard to come up with a better starting point for a hot rod project, be it real of virtual. And while this imaginary contraption caters to one's land and water transportation needs (at least if surfing is among your skills), the "side skirt extensions" look like they could be used for landing on the surface of another planet.
Besides, this remastered Blue Oval machine might just pack enough firepower to be labeled as a rocket. While the artist hasn't mentioned a muscle number, the blower/hat and the exhaust setup of that V8 speak for themselves.
Oh, and while we're talking aeronautical references, you might want to check out the fuel tank that now sits in the bed of the machine. With the artist having introduced multiple angles for this proposal (make sure to use the swipe feature of the post), the eye candy is complete.
