1,000 HP Dodge Challenger Hellcat Tears Up the Dyno, Supercharger Screams

Then again, many owners of previous model year Hellcats have decided to turn to the aftermarket side of the industry to ensure their slabs of SRT keep up.

And we've brought along a fresh example of this, one that involves a modded Hellcat that might just reach into the four-digit output area.

This muscle beast has seen its supercharged 6.2-liter blown V8 being massaged by a developer called A2Speed. The tank was filled with Q16 juice, with a special tune being prepared for the occasion.

And, despite the thing that this is the said developer's Level One package, the HEMI now delivers 840 horses at the rear wheels, hence our (admittedly optimistic) crankshaft output estimation above.

The said wheel horsepower number of the car was achieved on the dyno, with the specialist delivering a piece of footage documenting the adventure. And, much to nobody's surprise, the machine's aural side is just as enticing as its numbers.

Nevertheless, you should know that Dodge Demon owners aren't exactly resting on the beast's factory laurels. In fact, we've shown you a Demon that packs 1,000 hp just earlier today, with the most powerful example out there currently sitting at about 1,300 hp, as we discussed yesterday.

These range-toppers are currently engaged in the race for the 8s quarter-mile run, with the best run to date coming from Hennessey Performance's thousand-horsepower monster, which managed to deliver a 9.1-second stunt earlier this season.
