1,000 HP Challenger Hellcat Drag Races 1,000 HP Charger Hellcat, Brutality On

When Dodge came up with the Hellcat twins, the muscle car realm was swept off its feet. However, the Mopar people had greater plans, with the original 707 horsepower version not even being the high-output version of the blown 6.2-liter HEMI. Speaking of which, there are also owners who didn't wait for the carmaker to release the 840 hp Challenger Demon or the 797 hp Hellcat Redeye. And that's because these muscle wielders like their machines home-brewed.

The aftermarket side of the industry has had plenty of time to play with the Challenger Hellcat and the Charger Hellcat, which means that units with four-digit outputs are no longer that rare.

In fact, we've brought along a piece of footage that involves both a Challenger Hellcat and a Charger Hellcat that belong to the said league, so, between then, these muscle animals pack 2,000 horses.

Fortunately, the drivers of the Mopar toys chose to play at the drag strip, this keeping things on the safe side and benefiting from the prepped surface.

As we said, each of these supercharged monsters packs a thousand horsepower, but, when it comes to drag racing, the greatest difference between them isn't the extra weight of the Charger.

You see, the Challenger has been gifted with a 15-inch rear axle conversion, which means it can use the kind of wheel and tire combo that allows it to explode off the line.

And, as the driver of the Charger explains after the race, the coupe delivered a 1.40s 60-foot time. Then again, we'll stop throwing spoilers your way, as we don't want to ruin the giggles of the race.

Now, you should know the Dodge brotherly battle awaits you at the 9:47 point of the video below. However, the rest of the clip is also worthy of your time, since it's packed with drag strip shenanigans.
