The 2015 MY Can-Am Outlander 1000R DPS sports the biggest displacement engine ever in its family, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 976cc, Rotax V-twin powerhouse mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and can produce an 89 horsepower. In addition, it has a selectable 2WD / 4WD drive train with Visco-Loq QE auto-locking front differential, which increase its all-terrain capabilities.

Technology-wise, it comes with a tri-mode Dynamic Power Steering, as well as a state-of-the-art suspension package, composed of a double A-arm front unit and an acclaimed Torsional Trailing arm Independent (TTI) rear unit, which ensure it can safely cross the most ruthless terrains one might encounter.
