APRILIA SX 50 (2011-2012) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2011, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer released the Aprilia SX 50, a small displacement entry-level motorcycle with two power versions. The restricted one was best suited for younger Aprilia fans, and the unrestricted one was for the more experienced ones.

In addition, the 2011 SX 50 came with the same package as the previous model, featuring the same performance, visual, and technical specifications without any significant changes whatsoever.

Visually, the motorcycle had standard fittings, like a high-mounted front fender, a small cowl with a single headlight, a one-piece dual seat, a dual-sided swingarm, a high-mounted exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels with black rims and road-tires.

It was built around a steel beam frame with a 40 mm telescopic fork on the front with 195 mm wheel travel and a hydraulic single shock absorber on the rear with 180 mm of travel, offering optimum suspension performance and handling capabilities.

Braking-wise, the bike's wheels were fitted with a 260 mm stainless steel disc engaged by a floating caliper and one 180 mm brake disc tied to a floating caliper on the rear, offering optimum stopping power.

In the power department, the 2011 Aprilia SX 50 had installed a 49cc two-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine underneath its fuel tank. The engine was fed by a Dell'Orto carburetor and set in motion by a six-speed manual transmission that sent the power to the rear wheel via a final chain drive.
