APRILIA SMV 750 Dorsoduro (2008-2010) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia Dorsoduro was a V-twin line of motorcycles part of the supermotard class. The range comprised three models: the 750cc made from 2008 to 2015, the 1200cc produced from 2011 until the present, and the 900cc model manufactured from 2017 until the present.

Although the bikes had similar appearances, they had few common elements. In addition, the bikes were named after the Dorsoduro region of Venice, whose name translates to "hard ridge.”

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia 750 Dorsoduro, a supermotard motorcycle presented at the 2007 EICMA Show in Milan as the SMV 750 Dorsoduro. The bike was based on the Shiver 750, sharing the engine and frame but with different suspensions and tuning.

The 2008 model was Aprilia's first try into the maxi-moto class, with features more common to standard and touring motorcycles, such as an Optional ABS system and adjustable throttle mapping.

Visually, the bike had standard features, such as a single headlight unit, a high-mounted front fender, a single seat, an under-seat-mounted exhaust system, and lightweight ten-spoke gold-finished alloy wheels.

As for power, the 2008 Aprilia SMV 750 Dorsoduro had its muscles from a 749cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine. The engine was managed by a fuel injection system, delivering 92 hp at 8,750 rpm and 81 Nm (60 lb-ft) torque at 4,500 rpm.
