APRILIA ETV 1000 Caponord (2008-2009) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle maker launched the Aprilia ETV 1000 Caponord, a motorcycle part of the second series that debuted in 2004 with several visual, technical, and mechanical modifications. The first series was produced between 2001 and 2003.

The Aprilia ETV Caponord was an adventure machine made by Aprilia between 2001 and 2017. In addition, the bike was part of the same family as the Aprilia RST 1000 Futura and RSV Mille.

Visually, the 2008 motorcycle remained unchanged, packing the same standard features as previous models, like wire-spoke wheels, an engine cover, a two-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, a medium-sized windscreen, and a half fairing with a large headlight.

In the suspension department, the motorcycle was fitted with a 50 mm Marzocchi telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable Sachs shock absorber on the rear, providing optimum suspension performance and handling.

As for the braking power, the bike rolled on a 19-inch front wheel controlled by two 300 mm brake discs, while the 17-inch rear wheel was fitted with a 270 mm disc. The front discs were engaged by four-piston calipers and the rear one by a dual-piston caliper.

The 2008 Aprilia ETV 1000 Caponord had its soul brought to life by a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine mounted underneath its fuel tank, delivering an output power of 98 hp at 8,250 rpm and 97 Nm (72 lb-ft) torque at 6,250 rpm.
