Lexus LS-CC Concept Revealed Paris [Video]
For now, the LF-CC is being described as a “a first illustration of how concept cars are truly influencing future Lexus models and, in this instance, future D-Segment derivatives.” This ties in nicely with the rumors that Lexus will launch a coupe version of the GS sedan in late 2013.
The coupe will improve the emotional response people get when mentioning the Lexus brand, and will be an even better way to use the new company design language, as the spindle grille has yet to be translated into a two-door.
So what about the powertrain? Well, instead of going for lots of power, Lexus is targeting economy because it knows its customers are older, more refined gentlemen that aren’t into drifting. Under the bonnet of the concept there’s a new full hybrid powertrain that uses a new 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with direct and port injection. This promises to set new standards in economy and also produce less than 100 grams per km of CO2.
This video shot at the Paris Motor Show by Shmee150 shows two very interesting features of the concept. First off, there’s the new, 'Fluid Titanium' exterior colour, a metallic finish which grabbed our attention. Secondly, it’s the ride high of the car, which is quite low.
So, as you watch the LF-CC go round, think about what you really want Lexus to put in it: huge displays or a more powerful engine. Now’s the time to speak up!
