In an exuberant display of racing history, the Williams Team unfurls a unique, commemorative livery specifically crafted for the upcoming British Grand Prix, a magnificent nod to its 800-race journey in Formula 1.
The livery, gracing the engine cover of the Williams' FW45 piloted by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, boasts a proud display of the Union Jack while subtly incorporating a nod to the team's 800-race milestone on its sidepods, hailing from Grove.

Gulf, their sponsor, finds its brand identity more visibly etched on the car's rear wing endplates in this commemorative masterpiece. The Silverstone showdown was intended to be the milestone setting stage for Williams' 800th grand prix. However, fate had other plans with the unexpected cancellation of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, pushing the landmark event over to Hungary.

Ever resourceful, Williams embraced the change and maintained the unique livery for both the race weekends, ensuring that its monumental anniversary still resonates under the approving gaze of its British supporters in Silverstone.

Williams elucidates that the striking livery is more than just a celebration. It’s a heartfelt tribute to the team's British roots and its cherished founder, Sir Frank Williams, the late knight of the racing world.

Sir Frank Williams, who passed away in November 2021, was the unyielding force propelling the team through most of its 800 races, crafting an illustrious path marked by nine constructors' championships and seven drivers' championships spanning from 1977 to 2020. The distinctiveness of Williams' anniversary livery is of note. It should not be mistaken for the fan-elected Gulf livery poised to adorn the racing vehicle for the Singapore, Japan, and Qatar circuits later in the season.

Fans got to play the designer's role, casting votes on four varied concept designs for the Asian flyaway events, the 'Bolder than bold' and 'Heritage' liveries surged to the finals. Though the polls have drawn to a close, the suspense lingers as the team keeps the fans' chosen design under wraps. Entering its cherished Silverstone home race, Williams finds itself placed ninth in the constructors' standings, with only two instances of scoring points this season. Team leader Albon clinched a point with a commendable tenth-place finish in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.

Adding to the team's score, Albon earned a well-deserved seventh place in the recently held Canadian Grand Prix, lifting the team's score to seven. Despite rookie Sargeant's scoreless streak, he impressed with his best performance yet in Austria, securing a 13th-place finish at the Red Bull Ring.

Williams has orchestrated a captivating line-up of events for the Silverstone weekend without limiting the celebrations to the race track. This includes a dedicated fan zone in London, and a thrilling showcase of Nigel Mansell's world championship-conquering FW14B, demonstrated across the race weekend by the team's esteemed ambassador and past driver, Jenson Button.
