We’ve seen quite the number of incredible pickup truck builds over the past two weeks as part of our Celebration Month coverage. But America seems to be a never-ending stream of such machines, so chances are we’ll keep discovering more of them in the weeks ahead.
Today’s dose of pickup cool comes in the form of a 1959 Ford F-100, the most famous model of the F-Series until the arrival of the F-150. Like many others of its kind, it too is enjoying a second life after being remade by an unknown custom garage.

1959 marks the middle of the third generation of the series, and garages usually go for the second-gen, made from 1953 to 1956, because of the significantly more rounded body and the opportunities that opens. But after seeing this one, we wish we had more of them around.

Wrapped in two colors, green for the body and white for the cabin, the F-100 is as smooth as they get, with apparently laser-straight panels holding custom parts like bumpers, latches, and mirrors.

The interior looks equally refreshing thanks to a clever combination of grey on the bench, white on the steering wheel and the upper side of the dashboard, and green on the lower side and door panels.

The 20-inch wheels wrapped in radial tires spin thanks to the efforts made by a 351-ci (5.7-liter) engine and an automatic transmission. The engine breathes - and we’re told it breathes really “MEEEAN” - through a dual exhaust system.

According to the garage trying to sell this truck, the reason it looks so new is because it is. Work on it ended no more than two years ago, and since then, just 77 miles (124 km) were added to the clock. That’s partially why the $59,900 asking price seems more than justified.

Or you could try and find something to trade for the F-100, because that’s a possibility, too.
