United Kingdom based tuner Revolution took their street-legal modified 2005 Subaru Impreza to lap the Nurburgring earlier this month. The result? The fastest Subaru Impreza ever to lap the Nordschleife - 7:53:08.
Based on a Japanese-spec STI, the car was specially built to beat Tommi Makinen’s 7:55 lap record for a production Subaru set in 2011. The body of the car got new front and rear bumpers, wider wheel arches and no more rear door handles. Further modifications include a rear wing, carbon fiber hood, aluminum trunk lid and thinner glass to reduce weight and improve handling.

A modified 2.1-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine provides the necessary power for the job - 508 hp and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque delivered to the four wheels of the car. Further improvements include Tarox 10-pot brake calipers all around, Tein ProFlex coilovers with EDFC remote control system and a set of 19-inch OZ Superturismo LM alloy rims.

Inside, you will find a full roll cage, front Recaro seats with TSR harness, a custom dashboard and Alcantara with carbon fiber trimmings.

You can see the beefed-up Subaru tearing down the track at Nordschleife in the video bellow.
