Subaru has shown the WRX Concept at the New York Auto Show last month and is currently working on the production version, but we have bad news for British fans. It seems that the vehicle won't make it to the UK market.
Subaru wants to leave its rallying image behind and become established as an SUV brand in the UK. This means that its performance models no longer belong on the British market.
Paul Tunnicliffe, who leads Subaru's operations in the country, recently explained that the WRX sub-brand must be forgotten, despite the image boost it has brought for the company.
And it's not just the image that fights against go-fast Subarus in the UK. The financial side of the equation is also important. For example, Subaru has had to discount the final lot of WRX STIs in order to sell them.
This is mainly attributed to the high insurance and ownership costs, which make such models shine less in real life than on a bedroom wall.
