The Volkswagen Scirocco was never intended for the US market, but we know some anxious American drivers that would happily storm VW dealerships if the 3-door hatchback would cross the Pond.
Unfortunately for them, the Scirocco is still far from becoming a US product, but we learn Volkswagen is tempted to introduced the nameplate on the North American market once the vehicle is redesigned. Speaking to Auto Guide, Volkswagen’s manager of product and technology communications, Mark Gillies, said the company is “open to looking at future versions of the vehicle for this market”.
Meanwhile, the next-generation Scirocco is still a mystery except the fact that the new iteration will see a complete redesign in order to ditch that “Golf with an attitude” look.
The third-generation Scirocco was introduce back in 2008, when the nameplate was revived after a 16-year hiatus.
