The ambitious concept displayed by Volkswagen in 2007 and codenamed Golf GTI W12 is now available in production form (sort of...). Exclusive Tuning Worldwide created a new bodykit for Volkswagen Golf V which perfectly resembles the appearance of the concept but still, no performance boost is included in the package.

Before getting to more technical stuff, we should remind you the concept was equipped with the mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged engine, the same 6.0-liter W12 unit installed on the Phaeton, which produces a maximum power of 650 hp. Obviously, there's no chance to get the same power output on a Golf V unless opting for a different aftermarket package but if you want a perfect bodykit bringing the same appearance, this may be the only available solution.

Now, the Dutch tuner included brand new front and rear bumpers, new front grille, side skirts with faux air vents, four tailpipes, plus 60mm wider fenders with 19-inch GTI alloy wheels. As you can see for yourself in the adjacent photo, the aftermarket model looks amazing but there's still one major impediment: the price.

Buying all these goodies and turning your Golf V into the GTI W12 concept is not even close to being cheap, as the whole package plus installation costs around 13,025 euros (16,900 US dollars).

The most powerful version currently available on the fifth-generation Volkswagen Golf is the R32 flavor that comes equipped with a 3.2-liter V6 powerplant producing 250 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The model sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, while maximum speed reaches around 155.3 mph (250 km/h).

In order to make a comparison between the aftermarket and the rear concept, have a look at official images of the W12 after the jump.
