Just like we've said in the past, the new Volkswagen Scirocco looks incredibly good and designing an aftermarket package to improve this already-appealing appearance can turn out to be a waste of time. However, the folks over at JMS tried the impossible and, as far as we're concerned, they actually managed to improve the Scirocco.
One of the first things you'll notice when looking at the JMS VW Scirocco is the lowered body - 55 mm in the front and 45 mm in the rear - that makes the car look a bit more aggressive than the standard model. In case you were wondering, the main responsible for the lowering is a H&R coil over kit which, besides reducing the ground clearance, it also improves handling at high speeds.
Exteriors have also been customized with 19x8.5-inch racing wheels wearing 235/35 tires, front lip spoiler, rear diffuser, quad tips provided by Eisenmann Exhaust Systems and carbon inserts for reduced weight.
Because we're sure you were scanning the text searching for pricing information, we should probably tell you the whole aftermarket package costs €3,266 ($4,180).
The guys over at Caractere also debuted their very own tuning package at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show so, if you want to make a comparison between these two kits, check out this link.
Just to make yourself an idea, the top engine configuration on the standard model is a 2.0-liter TSI engine that produces a maximum power of 200 hp and 206.5 lb-ft of torque between 1700 and 5000 rpm. The Scirocco sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, while maximum speed is rated at 146 mph (235 km/h).
