After a tidal wave of novelties during the first three quarters of the year, the Japanese automaker is preparing the final assault for the fall-winter season. And they have fashionable stuff in mind – both in the real world and the parallel universes of vehicular CGI.
Following a vast roster of market releases or new model presentations – from the Prius Prime plug-in hybrid to the 2024 Grand Highlander and from an entire family of Nightshade special trim editions to superstars like the N400 Tacoma or 2024 Land Cruiser, you would think that even a global carmaker like Toyota would tire. Nope, not at all.

As such, they just came out with most 2024MY upgrades across the North American roster, and they're not slowing down. As such, while at home in Japan, the company is diligently preparing the namesake brand and the luxurious division Lexus for the inaugural edition of the Japan Mobility Show (formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show), the company is also catering to the next big event in America – the Los Angeles Auto Show taking place at the LA Convention Center between November 17 and 26.

Titled as the "most influential global auto event," it will feature a big premiere from Toyota, as recently teased by the automaker – and we are probably looking at the inaugural showcase of the ninth generation XV80 Toyota Camry! But what if the company also had something even cooler prepared as a surprise? Well, if we ask the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, that would be the digital dream of a 2025 Toyota Tacoma GR!

Sure, it's entirely wishful thinking to believe that Toyota would launch such a significant update to a superstar model that is not even on sale yet – especially since the Japanese automaker made sure to reveal the mid-size pickup truck with more than enough variants and trims to try and satisfy everyone. However, there's also logic behind trying to envision the most powerful and fastest Tacoma mid-size pickup truck.

So, the good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube have imagined the CGI looks of the unannounced 2025 Toyota Tacoma GR that would fight the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor on equal grounds. Remember, officially, the flagship 2024 Tacoma is the TRD Pro version with the 326-horsepower i-Force Max hybrid powertrain. That's a mighty excellent setup, given all the off-road-focused upgrades and the potential frugality on the road.

But it's also nowhere near the rating of the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor, which, unlike the European or Australian versions that come with just 282 hp or 392 ponies, has no less than 405 horsepower from the EcoBoost 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 mill. Instead, the channel's resident pixel master imagined a Tacoma with over 400 hp and 500 lb-ft featuring the Gazoo Racing treatment and 'lowered' or 'off-road-lifted' settings along with a subtly reworked interior and an aerodynamically-enhanced body. Is it cool with those ritzy color choices, or not?
