Some folks out there may have laughed when they heard of a new high-end phone that is not a smartphone, but the British luxury retailer proved everybody wrong. Not only are their services considered some of the most expensive out there, but they are good enough for luxury car manufacturers to be interested.
Of Bentley’s five-year partnership with Vertu, we had already told you, folks, a while ago. This time around, the Brits are back with a new model they are officially presenting this week, at the 23rd annual Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new Vertu Signature for Bentley will later be on display at some key seasonal events this summer, including the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August.
The Bentley Mulsanne Speed inspires the new model, and according to its maker, is characterized by its outstanding performance, and “peerless luxury and style.”
The resemblances between the premium phone and the luxury limousine are present in features such as the carbon fiber pillow on the phone that shares a similar carbon weave design pattern to that on the Mulsanne Speed. Then, there’s also the polished stainless steel sides that offer a tactile knurled finish reminiscent of the car’s control knobs.
“In addition, the Beluga Black calf leather which encases the handset is sourced from the same tannery used by the world-leading automotive company, as is the phone case that is also embellished with a Bentley Flying B Titanium emblem,” the British automaker details.
Further details of the premium phone are listed in the press release below, although no price has yet been announced. Considering we are talking about options such as sapphire keys and the possibility for customers to match their phone and case with the leather and stitching colors of their Bentley, it’s safe to assume this puppy won’t come cheap.
