Meet the portal-axle bully Ford F-150, which went through not one, but two major transformations. It used to be a Ford F-150. Now, it is a devil in disguise. During the full-scale war, a Ukrainian tuning house worked on the pickup truck to take it one step further and installed bolt-on portal axles on it.
The pickup truck arrived in the Werewolf 4x4 shop after getting tuned by American tuning house Devolro. They are Florida-based experts, specializing in converting your usual pickup truck into a real bully. And this is the treatment that this Ford F-150 got as well. A suspension lift kit put it 7 inches (19 centimeters) further from the ground.

It received new front and rear bumpers, while new lights and a redesigned grille showed up at the front, in the company of a front winch. There is another winch at the back, both capable of withstanding 11,023 pounds (5,000 kilograms). Eat your heart out for those extra 23 pounds (51 kilograms), Tesla Cybertruck!

But this is a 5.0-liter V8 Predator engine that we are dealing with, not a pair of electric motors. We are not told how much that V8 delivers, but what we do know is that Devolro can take it somewhere above 850 horsepower.

To keep the noise at bay when the occupants need to ride in silence and the preferred temperature in, the tuning house also worked on sound and thermal insulation.

The body is covered in the Dev-X Polymer Protective Coating, which provides it with a rugged and ferocious look. Looking like the bully that it is, the Ford F-150 tuned by Devolro drove into the Werewolf 4x4 shop.

The team is coming up with new portal axles to make the pickup truck an unbeatable beast in the off-road, where no pickup truck has ventured before. It is, however, their first kit for the F-150. It’s not like F-150s are imported to Ukraine on a daily basis, especially not in times of war.

They also plan to install larger wheels, because the huge wheel arches allow for big-sized units. But they start by taking everything apart and starting from scratch.

The pieces of the puzzle fall into place, and days later, they drive out of the shop in a huge truck. Once it hits the road, it dwarfs any other vehicle out there except buses and semis. Road bumps, potholes, you name it, it ignores them as if they are not even there.

The team designed new portal housing, larger than the previous series they had designed, in order to increase the oil volume and prevent overheating. Such trucks, always pulling or hauling something, operate under constant heavy loads, which favors high temperatures.

The new design, used by the Ukrainian firm, should be able to withstand twice as much load as the design currently used in their portal axles. They claim they changed just about everything they could.

Whoever is interested must know that the bolt-on portal axles are a $25,000 affair on top of the price of the pickup truck. The kit comes with a two-year or 31,068-mile (50,000-kilometer) warranty. Werewolf 4x4 also offers the possibility of installing a central tire inflation system. Because if you are going off-roading, you have to do it properly, be it in the war-suffocated Ukraine or in the US!

Since the firm also has armoring options, this ferocious beast would really make a good battlefield vehicle!
