At the beginning of the 2000s, nobody could've predicted that some of the most popular street car platforms for drag racing would be the Lamborghini V10 and the Nissan GT-R. And while we've discussed the Gallardo, Huracan and GT-R on tons of occasions, we are now here to focus on the close sibling of the Raging Bull animals, namely the Audi R8.
And we've brought along an example of such a German supercar. We're referring to a mid-engined deliver that started out in life as a 2017 Audi R8 V10 (not a Plus model).

Nevertheless, this Ingolstadt monster has been gifted with a twin-turbo package. The 5.2-liter V10 heart of the Audi now packs a pair of 6266 turbos, as well as the obvious ECU remap.

Note that the forced induction setup delivers 7 psi of boost, while the unit runs on 93 octane juice.

Nevertheless, the rest of the engine is stock and we can say the same about the driveline (more on this below).

Upon completing the build, the owner of the supercar headed for the drag strip, willing to make the most out of the newfound muscle.

The shenanigan was documented in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which records the beast's progress. To be more precise, the R8 V10 managed to descend into the 9-second arena.

However, if we judge by the aural side of the video, it seems that the hardware of the dual-clutch transmission is slipping. Then again, given the hefty output increase, this doesn't exactly comes as a surprise.

However, the drag strip stint wasn't without its issues, as the intercooler pump decided to quit its job, which caused the intake temperature to grow, so the car lost top end power. Even so, the build won't stop here, with this Audi set to deliver even stronger quarter-mile numbers in the future.
