By now, anybody with interest in supercars is aware of what the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 can do. Nevertheless, a drag race involving the Chevy halo car is always a delight and this is precisely why we're here - we've brought along a battle that sees the 'Vette being thrown at a Lamborghini Huracan.
The Chevy we have here has both good and bad sides when it comes to optional extras that impact straight-line performance. To be more precise, the machine packs the eight-speed automatic, which means it can get off the line easier and shift quicker compared to the manual version.

Nevertheless, the slab of America comes with the ZTK aero package and that big wing obviously causes serious drag at speed.

As for the Sant'Agata Bolognese machine we have here, we're talking about the RWD Spyder incarnation of the Huracan. In other words, this is the heaviest, least powerful version of the Raging Bull. And since it lacks all-paw hardware, the thing can't quite jump in front of the Corvette during the initial phase of the race. Or can it?

Well, with the risk of throwing spoilers at you, we'll mention that the C7 ZR1 spun quite a bit while taking off the line, while the Huracan had no trouble putting the power down.

Nevertheless, we'll remind you that the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 motor that occupies the front section of the Chevy delivers 755 horsepower. As for the 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 on the Lambo, this produces 580 ponies.

It's worth noting that the drag race was hosted by Hennessey Performance, with the Texan specialist using the drag strip in its back yard for the battle. And the Lone Star State developer isn't exactly famous for its objective drag races.

Nevertheless, this doesn't take away any of the spectacle delivered by the battle, as, for instance, the aural side of the fight is just as impressive as the visual one.
