The Dodge Challenger Hellcat and the Acura NSX could hardly be more different. After all, we're talking about a muscle car that's as traditional as possible and a hybrid supercar. However, none of that matters when the two are thrown at each other as part of a drag race.
And while we're here to bring you just that, we're glad the drivers of the Hellcat and the NSX did the right thing and hit the drag strip. Thus, they didn't just keep things on the safe side, but also enjoyed the prepped surface - the shenanigan that brought us here took place at the Palm Beach International Raceway.

As far as we know, the Acura NSX we have here comes in stock form. And you shouldn't let the fact that modding a hybrid can be more complicated trick you into believing something like this hasn't been achieved to date. In fact, here's an example of such aftermarket play.

When it comes to the blown Challenger, this had been taken down the aftermarket path. To be more precise, the 6.2-liter HEMI had been fitted with an E85 setup.

Now, the standard Hellcat, if we might call a 707-pony machine that, already has trouble getting off the line. However, the example we have here has been gifted with a rear axle setup involving beadlock wheels, so finding traction is easy.

So, what do the numbers tell us?

Well, the massaged Hellcat managed to complete the quarter-mile run in 10 seconds flat, with a trap speed of 142 mph. As for the NSX, the gas-electric supercar took 10.9 seconds to complete the task, with its trap speed sitting at 124 mph.

Of course, these are just numbers and can't describe the emotion of seeing the two worlds clashing at the drag strip. But the video below might just help with that.
