Certain drag racing sessions are more spectacular than others and the one that brought us here today certainly stand out. In theory, this could've simply been a drag strip encounter between a McLaren 720S and some Dodge Demons, which would've obviously brought enough of a show.
Nevertheless, the velocity encounter brought two extra shenanigans. For one thing, the drag race involved a tuned McLaren. To be more precise, the ECU remap was the only mod brought to the car.

However, this allowed the British missile to deliver stunning performance. For instance, the 0 to 60 mph time of the Woking machine sat at a jaw-dropping 2.1 seconds. Sure, the run involved the prepped surface of the track, but this remains a remarkable achievement.

As for the quarter-mile numbers delivered by the mid-engined toy, the sprint was covered in 9.48 seconds, with a trap speed of 146 mph. Note that the mid-9s sprint is the kind that leaves hypercars outside the winner's corner.

The drag racing session also involved a less fortunate happening, with one of the Dodge Demons that battled the Macca grenading its differential. Such stunts can sometimes lead to crashes, but, fortunately, this wasn't the case here.

We're not sure what caused the hardware to give up and, since we don't know if the said Challenger had been tuned or if it had been properly maintained, we can't deliver any comments on the matter.

Regardless, you'll get to check out the said stunts in the piece of footage below. As for the Drag Times vs. Demonology drag race mentioned in the video, you can find the full adventure in this tale. We're talking about two of the most YouTube-famous drag racers out there, with the first wielding a stock McLaren 720S and the second hooning a supposedly stock Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.

Update:For the record, the Macca rides on Toyo R888R rubber.
