There's no mistaking the pre-facelifted BMW X7 with the mid-cycle refresh it received last year, as the latter brings dual headlamps in addition to other modifications, and it is these that help it stand out.
The Munich auto marque's flagship crossover is currently in the 2024 model year in the United States, with the offer comprising the base xDrive40i, the mid-spec M60i, and the range-topping Alpina XB7. And it is the M60i derivative that ended up in Larte Design's hands, getting a carbon fiber makeover.

Images released on social media by the tuner recently show the BMW X7 M60i fitted with all kinds of add-ons made of the lightweight material. It comes with a new hood, front bumper attachments, including the new apron, grille trim, side skirts, mirror caps, a different rear diffuser, a new wing, and some other bits and pieces.

Instead of the OEM roundels, it features the tuner's logo on the nose and tailgate, though at least it retains the X7 and M60i badges below the rear windscreen. Larte Design’s signature is also visible on the new 23-inch wheels, which feature a five-spoke design. It is these that round off the project that has a gray finish, some black inserts, and the visible carbon fiber on the add-ons.

Are you curious if they did anything to the engine? That would be a no, as Larte Design isn't famously known for squeezing more power out of the motors of its projects. As a result, it carries the stock unit, which is a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 developing 523 hp (530 ps/390 kW) at 5,500-6,000 rpm and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque between 1,800 and 4,600 rpm. The stock BMW X7 M60i tops out at 130 mph (210 kph) or 155 mph (250 kph) as an option and needs 4.5 seconds to go to 60 mph (97 kph) from rest.

Pricing for this model starts at $108,700 in the United States, and from $149,400, you could get the Alpina XB7. This is the top-of-the-line flavor of the series, a substitute to the X7 M that doesn't exist, which boasts 631 hp (640 ps/471 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque from its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. The XB7 is six-tenths quicker to 60 mph than the M60i and tops out at 180 mph (290 kph).

As for the BMW X7 xDrive40i, it brings a 3.0L twin-turbo straight-six to the party. The entry-level variant has 375 hp (380 ps/280 kW) and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm), needs 5.6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph, and has an identical top speed to the M60i. This model will set you back a minimum of $81,900 in our market. All prices exclude the destination charge.
