Triumph Tiger 1050 Wheelie Breaks Frame

It's common knowledge a bike's frame is one of its sturdiest components as it has to hold everything in place and even the rider's/ luggage weight and all.

Even more, the frame must withstand all the bumps in the road and engine vibration, therefore engineers spend thousands of hours researching and testing the frame designs until they find the best solution. Yet, a motorcycle frame is not diamond-hard, and it looks like even the frames of the sturdiest large tourer bikes can find their match.

It's the case of a Triumph Tiger 1050 during a wheelie meeting. Well, the Tiger did more than wheelie and most likely it had a rather brutal rest on the tail. This know was violent enough to break the rear frame, bending the very seat and ripping the whole exhaust pipe, leaving the bike in a very strange stance.

The picture is as funny as it is weird and rare. Since we can only see the right side of the bike, it''s hard to tell whether the damage was extended to other areas. And in case the rider has managed to bring the Tiger back on two wheels after crashing the bike's tail, well... that would be even more astonishing and chances are we'd call it a win, in the end.
