Spyshots: 2013 Maserati Quattroporte Shows Its Interior for the First Time

The interior of the current Maserati Quattroporte looks so old and outdated, that it would have only looked good in a new car, 15 years ago, and while the use of materials and the quality is generally very good, it lacks the flair of other Italian-designed interiors, as well as the technological gizmos found aboard their German rivals.
However, with their all-new Quattroporte moves things on considerably, both in terms of design, and perceived quality. It now features a very large touch screen infotainment system (a must in its segment, nowadays), as well as visibly improved materials, and a much more modern-looking steering wheel than that of the old car, wrapped in fine leather.

What bothers us is that the automatic gearbox selector, placed on a central tunnel nicely finished in wood, still looks outdated and old-fashioned, and in an age when Jaguar has a motorized rising rotary knob to select gears, this is a real dinosaur. Sadly, the lighting conditions of the picture prevent us from seeing more details, but we hope to see more pictures of this car and its interior, soon.
