The off-grid lifestyle takes on different faces depending on where in the world you may be. Well, this time around, the magic is happening in our own backyard, but it was birthed in one of the world's wildest of places, Australia.
Ladies and gentlemen, today we'll be exploring the work of a team that has been making headlines in recent years, none other than Patriot Campers (PC), the one born of Australian descent and now even helping Americans step up their off-grid and off-road game; they have a dealership out in Las Vegas.

If this crew sounds familiar, it's because we have covered their work extensively, and the TH (Toy Hauler) series is on a slightly different level than we may be used to. I mean, just check out the image gallery to see what I mean. There, you'll witness the magic of the TH610, a toy hauler with not only the ability to carry your outdoor and off-road gear but that can be a haven in the wild; each unit is filled with goodies and features that can support outdoor living for more than just a day or two.

So, what makes these babies so dang special and worthy of your attention? Well, for starters, they're designed and built by an Australian-born crew, and if you know how they do outdoor living in the land down under, you know they aren't messing around.

For example, the entire platform is set up on nothing more than a heavy-duty off-road suspension with a trailing A-arm design and double convoluted airbags for each axle! Did I mention that all that's self-leveling? Getting the idea as to why PC starts these units off at a tad over $74K (€68,700 at current exchange rates)? All that's completed with a DO35 articulating hitch, and off we go.

Driving along, you'll be hauling a unit that's 20 ft (6.1 m) long and 7.8 ft (2.4 m) wide, so not the largest toy hauler on the road, and for some, that's a great thing, especially if you're planning on using the TH610 in its natural habitat, where no actual roads exist. Dry, these babies weigh 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs)and can be loaded up to 3,400 kg (7,496 lbs). With an idea of how big this bugger is, let's dive deeper into all the little knick-knacks that make up your experience.

Now, what really makes the TH series from PC so amazing is the fact that these buggers aren't just for hauling your toys. Sure, the rear ramp has all the goods you need to ensure your quads, dirt bikes, and/or ATVs don't go flying around as you crawl your way through off-road life, but it's the living module that I really fell in love with.

Why? Well, aside from being able to accommodate an array of systems needed to ensure the TH is running smoothly, that body also hides a gas water heater, 115 l (30 gals) of fresh water, and an integrated stereo system, to name a few.

Ok, so I'll call out a few more features, the likes of a REDARC BMS (Battery Management System), batteries, and an awning. The rest of the cabinets are all for you and me to do with as we please. Some of them will be used for storage and equipped with slide-out trays for goodies, while other parts will be hiding things like a galley setup, ready with a swing-out grill, too. Go ahead, bring those toolkits and spare parts.

Yet, this isn't the end of the magic with this one. As I explored the options list on the manufacturer's website, it soon became apparent that what we're actually looking at is a potential mobile campsite. The list of extra features and options revealed that you can even manage to add a roof-top tent to the living module, opening up new venues for outdoor and mobile living.

Here, to get a better idea, take a moment out of your busy day and picture yourself with the TH610 behind your off-roading vehicle. You'll trudge through water, mud, and dry riverbeds to finally arrive at some hidden oasis in the desert. Since this puppy can be called home for a few days, you unload your toys, stabilize the TH, and set up camp.

At this stage, the rest of the gang has their campsites up and running, and before long, the smell of BBQ fills the air. Why not crack open a cold one, kick back, and once the sun begins to set, ride up to some nearby ridge and slam Instagram with some fresh content?

Later in the evening, gather around a fire, grab a guitar - maybe there's a vocalist in your group - and let the thoughts of life in the universe flood your brain. Sleeping isn't too far away either; you'll just need to be sure you're not tipsy enough to climb the ladder to your tent. The next day, do it all over again.
