Celebrities, they're just like us. Sometimes, rarely so, but it happens. This is one of those times: Tori Spelling, the acting daughter of the famous, multi-millionaire TV producer Aaron Spelling, is living in a motorhome.
Downsizing by means of a mobile home remains of the most popular trends right now. A full-time mobile home, whether an RV or a tiny house, doesn't just satisfy wanderlust but allows for a life richer in experiences and lower in financial costs. For a wide category of people, mobile living is the all-encompassing solution that tackles several problems, especially if they can also work on the road.

When celebrities qualifying as A-listers downsize, they usually go from mega-mansions to smaller mansions, or maybe they ditch a private jet (or two) or a car (or a dozen) to cut expenses. It's only the rebels and misfits like Jason Momoa who would actually move in a motorhome full-time, and in that case, too, we're talking about a rig that sells for roughly $1.7 million. That's not downsizing by an average Joe's salary standards.

But this unit is. Tori Spelling, once considered the princess of daytime TV because she was the daughter of the indisputable king of television, producer Aaron Spelling, is living out of a Sunseeker 2150LE Class C motorhome. It's not even her own: according to reports, the RV is a rental, so there's no customization or lavish features inside.

If you grew up in the '90s, the name Spelling hardly needs any introduction. Aaron Spelling was the man behind hit series like Charlie's Angels, Melrose Place, and Beverly Hills 90210, which also happened to be Tori's vehicle to fame. On his death, he left behind a $600 million fortune that went almost entirely to his widow, Candy, in what turned out to be the scandal of the year. Tori and her brother only got $800,000 each, which is peanuts to the kind of lifestyle they'd been accustomed to.

Tori Spelling never quite outshone her part on the Beverly Hills series, but she's been active in television all these years. She's also been a tabloid fixture with reality shows, faked marital drama, celebrity feuds, and the like. Earlier this year, her husband, Dean McDermott, announced their separation, and she and their five kids moved into a Los Angeles motel. They'd already planned the move because the rental house they were at had a serious mold problem.

They have now left the motel and are living in the motorhome, which has been spotted at a camping spot in Ventura County. The tabloids and celebrity publications are saying what they've been saying for years, that Tori is struggling financially. The addition is that she's now basically homeless because her finances are so bad that she can't secure a home. In other words, Tori Spelling is dealing with issues millions of regular people from all over the world are dealing with.

But the solution she came up with for now is nice, that much is certain. Apparently, since they can't return to their rental home, Tori is treating the kids to a summer holiday, which also temporarily solves their housing situation. She's downsizing like a regular person, more or less willingly.

Tori's choice is a Sunseeker 2150LE sitting on a Ford E-450 chassis, with sleeping for as many as six people and all the comforts of a proper home. Forest River offers Sunseeker homes in various layouts and sizes, either on a Chevy or a Ford chassis. The 2150LE model is among the most compact but still quite fancy.

For instance, a popular layout on the 2023 model has a bunk bed over the driver's cab, with a swiveling TV set that turns the dinette into an entertainment lounge. Two more people can sleep in the guest bed here, as the dinette is also a bedroom when need be. Then, at the rear is a comfy queen-size bed with some privacy from the rest of the space and a full dry bathroom.

The kitchen is very compact but will work even with such a large party – and what we can only assume are the impossible food demands of five kids of different ages.

The 2150LE is perfect for families, offering plenty of storage, an on-demand water heater, AC and heat, satellite and cable connection, and the option to run all appliances and devices off solar.

Sure enough, it's shocking to hear that a famous person who grew up in a mansion that had no less than three separate rooms dedicated only to gift-wrapping and another room for her mother's collection of dolls is now forced to move the family to a motorhome because of money issues. That's extreme downsizing right there – but at least those kids are getting one awesome vacation in what is most likely quite an awesome RV.

Silver linings, and all that.
