If building your own camper van sounds like too much of a hassle, there are countless specialized van conversion companies you can reach out to have them create your dream mobile home. One of them is Titan Vans, which specializes in high-end, built-to-order camper vans. Today, I'm checking out one of their latest models.
What we have here is a brand-new 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with AWD and a 144" wheelbase. The Boulder, Colorado-based company currently has four interior options for the Sprinter 144", to which you can add extra options to suit your exact needs and wants.

Regarding pricing, the cheapest "Classic" option starts at $44,995 (€41,213), while the most expensive one is the "Ultra" setup, which starts at $88,995 (€81,515) - the latter is the one included in the rig I'm discussing today. Keep in mind that these prices are just for the conversion, excluding the base vehicle. What's more, all conversions are supported by a 3-year / 36,000-mile (57,936-km) no-nonsense warranty.

As usual, I'll take a look at the exterior features of this rig before moving inside. This Sprinter van's customer selected the company's "wheel and tire package," which means the rig rides on 17-inch Titan Vans performance wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. What's more, the package moves the spare tire from the rear to the Sprinter's original spare location underneath the vehicle.

At the rear, you'll discover one of Titan Vans' cargo box options: a B2 carrier rack holding a 30-inch (76-centimeter) aluminum box on the right, as well as an Owl Sherpa carrier with a second box.

To climb on the roof, you'll have to use a spare ladder mounted on the driver's side of the vehicle. Once you're up there, you'll notice a sizeable roof rack housing an awning and a 330 W solar panel.

Now, let's start the interior tour – slide open the main door, and you'll discover a clean interior packed with features. Moreover, it has an open layout, meaning there's nothing separating the driver's cabin from the living space.

The Ultra conversion comes standard with a small couch and a swivel table behind the driver's seat. However, you can opt for additional seats, just like the ones installed in this rig. You'll notice a double seat complete with seatbelts. Moreover, whenever it's not in use, you can fold it away to create more room.

Next, we have the galley, which is split into two parts. On the passenger side, it features a single-burner induction stove, a sizeable drawer, and a slide-out Isotherm fridge accessible from both inside and outside the bus. The other part houses a small sink and a cabinet.

It's a bit challenging to fit a bathroom on shorter wheelbase versions of the Sprinter, but Titan Vans managed to squeeze one in. It measures 24 x 24 inches (61 x 61 centimeters), so it's pretty small. However, this isn't your run-of-the-mill camper bathroom.

Yes, it comes with a shower and a composting toilet, like most camper van bathrooms. You also get a roll-down door for privacy and L-Traks attachment points to dry out your gear. The water drains into a 9-gallon (34-liter) greywater tank underneath the vehicle, complete with a heater pad for cold-weather camping. But there's one feature that makes it special. In the lower part, Titan Vans installed a Webasto diesel heater vent.

If you crank the diesel heater up, the temperature inside the bathroom can reach up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit (71 degrees Celsius). This helps dry the gear you attach to it much faster. Or, even better, you can use it as a sauna. Imagine using it after a day of skiing – that sounds amazing, right? It's not going to be the most comfortable experience since you can't sit down and also enclose the space, but it'll work – it's not recommended to stay more than 15-20 minutes in a sauna anyway.

At the rear of the interior, Titan Vans fitted a two-part mattress system. It can be set up in two ways: let's call them the "extra room" and "sleeping" modes. In the former, the two parts of the mattress can be put on top of each other, and the middle part of the bed frame can be slid toward the rear to create more walking space. This setup also leaves extra prep room on the side counters and provides easier access to the sink.

In the "sleeping mode," the frame extends toward the kitchen, connecting the two counters. You flip down one part of the mattress to create the bed. By the way, the bed measures 60 x 80 inches (152 x 302 centimeters) and is designed to sleep people from side to side, especially since Titan Vans installed two fiberglass flares to create more room for sleeping – only one of them integrates a slide-screen window.

Other notable bedroom features are two overhead cabinets on the driver's side and a ceiling A/C. On the passenger side wall, you'll find the rig's control panel – it comprises an inverter controller, a breaker panel, an A/cC remote control, a Webasto heater controller, and a Digital Multi Control panel for the power system.

The space underneath the bed serves as a garage, accessible from both inside and outside the van. The sides are occupied by the counters housing the utility systems, but the middle part provides a ton of room to store bulkier items, such as bikes.

On the left side, you'll notice the plumbing system. It consists of a water pump, an electric 4-gallon (15-liter) water heater, and a 22-gallon (83-liter) freshwater tank. On the opposite side, the power system has an electrical panel where every ground and power cable inside the van meets in a fuse panel, making repairs and diagnoses much easier. The Ultra conversion comes standard with a 3,000 W inverter, a 200 Ah battery, and a 330 W solar panel.

Titan Vans prides itself on installing off-grid recovery systems in its rigs. Long story short, in the event of really low temperatures or low voltages, when the batteries completely drain, there's no need to trickle charge the batteries like in many other systems. Instead, this van's setup has a built-in trickle charger, and all you have to do is start the engine or connect to shore power, and the electrical appliances will start working while the batteries are being charged.

All in all, Titan Vans has gone above and beyond to create an ultra-practical tiny home on wheels. Despite the van's compact size, they've managed to make the most out of it and fit it with many useful features. It brings van life to a deluxe level; of course, you'll pay a "deluxe price" for it.

As I mentioned earlier, the Ultra conversion starts at $89K, and that's without some of the extra options we've seen on today's van. The base vehicle this conversion is based on is a brand-new 144" wheelbase Sprinter, which will set you back at least $70,000 (€64,435), again, with no additional factory options.

That brings the total price of this specific unit to at least $160,000 (€147,280). That's a hefty sum, but you get an off-grid and off-road-ready van that's ready to take you on many adventures.
