Late last year, I covered the King Highline van conversion by Ready Set Van. Today, I'm taking a look at another one of their tiny home conversions, one that's designed to keep you nice and cozy year-round, especially when going off-grid.
Ready Set Van is a specialized conversion company based in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. It currently has four available models, one of which is the Highline I recently wrote about. Its newest project is a custom build on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van. It's also based on the Hudson conversion, although it's been heavily upgraded.

The customer had a specific use case in mind – they wanted to go in the middle of nowhere, far away from people, and stay there for as long as possible. And that's what Ready Set Van considered when building this tiny home on wheels.

As per usual, I'm gonna start with the exterior. This rig is finished in an eye-catching dual paint job, with a light grey top and a matte black lower part, which is covered in bed liner for extra protection.

At the front, you'll discover a CAtuned front bumper complete with a 10,000-lb. (4,536 kg) winch, a hitch receiver, and two Baja LP9 amber lights. Furthermore, Ready Set Vans installed skid plates under the front bumper to protect the engine, transmission, and transfer case.

Front lighting options continue, as there are two more Baja lights above the hood, as well as a light bar. It's safe to say that you can easily keep the path ahead well-lit, even if you're off-roading at night.

By the way, Ready Set Van had to make this rig off-road-capable to fulfill the customer's request. In this regard, the builders installed a Van Compass stage five kit with a 2-inch lift and Falcon shocks. Moreover, the camper rides on Black Rhino Arsenal 17-inch rims wrapped in BF Goodrich Baja Champion tires.

To go the distance, the client also opted for a fuel tank upgrade, fitting a 45-gallon (170-liter) diesel tank. Ready Set Vans claims that it allows the vehicle to drive for up to 700 to 800 miles (1,127 to 1,287 km).

On the side, you'll discover rocker guards bolted directly into the vehicle's frame. Their purpose is to protect the van's side. If you go off the beaten path, it's close to impossible not to hit your vehicle. Other notable elements on the side are a Fiamma F45 awning, dual-pane insulated windows installed toward the rear, and additional lights.

One of the most distinctive features is the camera system. Having a camera system onboard your camper is a good idea for the extra protection, but this one comes with two cameras, one on each side, that follow you as you walk around the van. That will surely discourage ill-intended people from breaking into your camper. Moreover, it's connected to the van's Wi-Fi system, so you can check the feed whenever you want.

At the rear, you'll notice a ladder/spare tire combo and two expedition cases that provide a bunch of storage space. Moreover, there's also a ladder on the passenger side. I'm not sure why you'd need two ladders on your rig, but I'm guessing it doesn't hurt to have an extra one.

Climb on top of the rig, and you'll find an Orion roof rack holding 350 W solar panels, a WeBoost, an overlanding radio antenna, a 5G antenna for the Wi-Fi router, a 13,500 BTU A/C, and two Pelican cargo cases.

As I mentioned earlier, this van is ready to take you on year-round adventures, regardless of the season and the environments you're traveling in. To make this possible, the builders properly insulated this mobile home. For instance, the floor features PolyIso insulation, a subfloor, and a single vinyl sheet. The rest of the interior is protected by 3M Thinsulate insulation.

When sliding the main door open, you'll notice that a kitchen counter blocks part of the entrance. There's a large flip-down table integrated into this counter, allowing you to prepare a meal outside. You also get a cutting board, a small light, a storage compartment, and an outlet, making this tiny spot a mini outdoor kitchen.

The interior boasts an open layout, meaning the driver’s cabin isn't separated from the living space. What's more, both the driver's and passenger’s seats can be swiveled, and the cabin is outfitted with all sorts of features, including buttons for the exterior lights, a radio system, a speaker system, and an enormous headliner shelf.

The next part of the interior is the seating area, comprising a double seat with seatbelts, a huge swivel table also accessible from the driver's seat, a monitor, and two overhead cabinets – one can serve as a charging station, as it boasts outlets and USB plugs, while the other holds a microwave. These cabinets also come with L-Traks underneath, perfect for fitting additional storage options.

In case you want to accommodate guests onboard, you can fold the double seat into an extra bed. However, it's quite tiny, and the guest must also use the driver's seat to fit on it.

Next, we have the kitchen, which is situated on the passenger side of the interior. It comes with a butcher block countertop with a flip-up extension, a decently sized sink with a wooden cover and an extendable faucet, a single-burner induction stove, a small Dometic fridge/freezer, and various drawers for storage. However, one of them serves as a step for the bedroom.

Here's a really cool thing Ready Set Vans implemented for the drawers, an ingenious feature I haven't seen before. Each drawer has an electromagnet on the back side – when you start the vehicle, the drawers automatically lock so they don't open while driving. Moreover, a switch on the kitchen wall enables you to unlock them anytime.

The kitchen wall also integrates switches for the lights and water heater, two outlets, as well as controls for the electrical system and a Webasto diesel heater.

Opposite the kitchen, you'll notice a wet bathroom. It's the biggest bathroom Ready Set Van has ever built, measuring 36 inches (91 centimeters) in width. It boasts an acrylic construction and has a shower, a bamboo mat, and a Cuddy composting toilet.

And finally, we have the bedroom. It has a massive king-size bed that occupies the entire rear part of the interior. Regarding storage, you can use six overhead cabinets, three on each side of the bedroom. Other notable elements are reading lights, the ceiling A/C, two speakers, and a TV.

Pop the van's two rear doors, and you'll discover an enormous garage. In the middle, Ready Set Van installed a Bedslide tray that can be pulled out for easier access. You'll notice a large Iceco dual-zone fridge/freezer box on it. Moreover, the rear doors are fitted with Molle panels.

The utility systems occupy the left and right sides of the garage. The electrical system features a MultiPlus 3,000 W inverter/charger, batteries with a whopping 1,100 Ah capacity, a DC/DC charger that enables the batteries to be charged while driving, and other components. You also have a shore power connection, but I doubt you'll ever need that, considering the power of this system.

The plumbing system comprises a 42-gallon (159-liter) freshwater tank and an outdoor shower. What's more, the builders installed a 25-gallon (95-liter) auxiliary freshwater tank in the spare tire compartment.

You're probably curious how much this all costs. As I mentioned at the beginning of the article, this is a heavily modified Hudson conversion. Ready Set Van's Hudson conversion starts at $89,000 (€81,662), but this rig has probably around $10,000 (€9,175) or more worth of upgrades.

Overall, it's a fantastic tiny home on wheels that keeps you comfortable and allows you, just as its customer requested, to go out there and not worry about running out of power, water, or any other critical utilities.
