Off-roading is very popular nowadays. But some people aren't satisfied by taking their SUV into the wild – they want to enjoy the comforts of a conventional home while still being able to tackle rougher environments. One solution for this is getting your hands on an off-road-ready camper van, such as the one I'm checking out today.
What we have here is a 2022 Mercedes Sprinter with a 4x4 drive designed to accommodate up to four people. In fact, even its maker describes it as a good fit for families, as it can both sleep and seat four people.

Its maker is Revik Outfitters, a California-based company specializing in van conversions. It seems to be quite a new company, and I'm always eager to share new players on the market as long as they do a good job. So, let's get into it.

On the outside, this Sprinter is a sleek and aesthetically pleasing machine. It's finished in grey paint, and its lower part has an eye-catching custom graphic that reads Revik Outfitters. Moreover, the rig rides on Black Rhino rims wrapped in all-terrain tires and features an Agile RIP suspension kit that raises the ride height by almost two inches (five centimeters).

On the passenger's side, the builders equipped the van with Van Speed side steps and a Fiamma F45S awning. What's more, they also added Van Speed flares to allow you to sleep sideways.

For lighting, the outfitters installed two large amber lights at the front, scene lights, and even undercarriage lights, so you'll be able to see your surroundings clearly even when off-roading at night.

At the rear, you'll discover an Owl Vans Sherpa cargo carrier complete with a spare tire mount, a ladder, and a bike carrier. Climb on top of the rig, and you'll find 140 W solar panels and a WeBoost signal booster.

Let's move on inside. As soon as you pop the siding door open, you'll notice a cleanly designed interior with a cozy atmosphere. Dead ahead, you'll notice a seat that's a bit awkwardly positioned right in the middle of your way. But let me explain why Revik Outfitters chose this arrangement.

Both the driver's and passenger's seats can be swiveled. What's more, between them, you'll discover a tiny swivel table with two built-in cup holders. Other notable features in the driver's cabin are an enormous overhead storage space and a custom GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) radio connection.

Behind the driver's seat, you'll find another seat identical to the one I just mentioned. Above it, there are three bamboo overhead cabinets, one of which serves as an electronic cabinet with a WeBoost connection and a set of walkie-talkies. They can be paired with the vehicle's radio system.

Here's the deal with these seats: they can be folded into couches, each comfortably fitting two people. However, if you turn the driver's and passenger's seats around and transform the other two into couches, you'll essentially have two full-length twin-size beds. I haven't ever seen this type of setup before in campers, so props to the builders for their creativity. Of course, if you don't need to sleep guests, you can remove the chair blocking the entrance for additional space.

This van's kitchen is very straightforward, so don't expect to cook any complex meals inside. It features a small collapsible sink with drawers underneath and a fridge/freezer box stored under the bed. Although I haven't seen any stove in the video, the van's listing says you do get a stove, so I'm assuming it's a portable one.

Right on your left, as you enter the vehicle, you'll find the rig's control center. It consists of a Garmin system with analog switches (they can also be operated via an app), a Victron power center that displays all the info regarding power, two outlets, and two USB plugs.

The main, queen-size bed is positioned relatively high to make room for the garage underneath. It's designed for you to sleep sideways in it because the flares offer more room. You'll notice two reading lights and two soft overhead cabinets, which can be folded completely against the wall.

The van's garage can be accessed from the inside or the outside by opening the two rear doors. By the way, both doors feature window covers and cargo nets that enable you to store lots of stuff. But the biggest storage space in this van is the garage, offering a lot of room in the middle on a slide-out tray.

The left side of the garage houses the plumbing system. Ir comprises a 25-gallon (95-liter) freshwater tank with a water level indicator, a 4-gallon (15-liter) water heater, a 10-gallon (38-liter) gray water tank, and an outdoor shower. Moreover, the opposite side hides the electrical system, featuring 600 Ah lithium batteries and a 3,000 W inverter. Energy can be provided by the alternator while the engine is running, by a shore power connection, or by the 150 W solar panel on the roof.

This rig is ready for all four seasons. A Dometic RTX 2000 A/C will cool the interior, an Espar D2 heater will keep you warm during colder months, and a Maxxair fan will keep the interior ventilated.

Revik Outfitters' van currently boasts around 15,000 miles (24,140 km). It has been professionally appraised as an RV with a value of $227,500 (€207,122) and is ready for financing. Its builder describes it as a Family Van – given that it sleeps and seats four people, it can be called a Family Van.

I see it as more suitable for a weekend getaway in nature, especially since it's made to go off-road. One downside is that it doesn't come with any bathroom facilities (besides the outdoor shower). A portable toilet would've been an excellent addition, but there wasn't any space left to fit it.

This 2022 4x4 Sprinter van is now looking for its next owner. You'll have to empty out a hefty $179,000 (€162,966) to get your hands on it.
