I've seen and covered camper vans with all sorts of design styles. Today, I'm checking out a camper van finished in the Scandi style, which is short for Scandinavian.
Scandi design is all about blending minimalism, simplicity, and functionality. This Nordic style favors natural materials, such as pale wood, and other natural materials, such as wool and linen textiles and leather.

The camper van I'm discussing today was created by Studio Hideout, a Scotland-based company that makes tiny homes on wheels that are an extension of the landscape surrounding you. What's more, Studio Hideout specializes in using natural and sustainable materials, just like the ones you'll soon see on this rig.

This conversion is based on a 2016 Peugeot Boxer L3H2, a medium-sized van that offers plenty of space to create an efficient and comfortable interior. On the outside, this rig is pretty standard – it's finished in white paint and doesn't come with any exterior accessories you typically find on camper vans, such as a bike carrier, a roof rack, or a front bumper. In fact, no elements hint toward its camper DNA.

This van's charm is instantly noticeable once you step inside. You'll discover a spacious interior with a carefully curated mix of natural materials. The cabinetry is made out of plywood and colored in a beautiful green Formica pale olive. But my favorite part is the sustainable cork flooring.

Pop the sliding door open, and you'll notice the seating area dead ahead. It features an L-shaped couch upholstered in Harris Tweed fabric, a large overhead shelf, and various other storage spaces integrated underneath the couch. What's more, a long slide-out table can be extended from one of the benches, perfect for placing a cup of coffee or enjoying a nice meal outside.

The couch integrates deep drawers underneath, and a small shoe storage spot is right by the entrance. Furthermore, Studio Hideout installed a table mount into the floor, which, of course, holds a table. The cool thing about it is its unique shape, designed specifically to make room for people to walk beside it.

Above, you'll find a huge skylight that lets plenty of natural light inside and can be fully opened for additional ventilation. There's another one toward the rear, above the bedroom, which enables you to stargaze from the comfort of your own bed. It would've been a shame to have this brightly colored interior and not let the sun shine inside.

Studio Hideout devised the kitchen on the right as you enter, on the passenger side of the van. It consists of a decently sized countertop, an overhead shelf, a small sink, a dual-burner stove, and a Thetford oven/grill.

Other notable elements are an ample drawer and a full-height cupboard that holds a pull-out garbage can and a pull-out spice rack. What's more, you'll discover a drawer and a small fridge housed underneath the bed.

The next part of this interior is a wet bathroom. Instead of the popular sliding door van builders typically go for, Studio Hideout installed a conventional door, also finished in the same green paint as the rest of the interior. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious given the compact size of the van, featuring a toilet, a shower, and a heater outlet meant to dry out wet clothes. This space is completed by a bamboo shower mat mounted on a stainless steel pan and a tiny skylight.

And finally, the last part of this van's living space is the bedroom. Here's how Studio Hideout took its design to the next level – the wall that partly divided the bedroom from the rest of the interior boasts a striking angled design. However, my favorite design element is the bedroom's curved birch plywood ceiling.

The bedroom has a fixed double bed, two tiny windows, bedside reading lights, USB charging ports, and a bedside storage spot. What's more, because the bed was positioned higher up to make room for a garage, there's a small step you can use to enter the bedroom.

To be frank, I wasn't expecting the garage to be this big. It features durable rubber flooring, a large space in the middle to store bulkier items, a gas bottle locker, and the van's utility system on the left and right sides.

The electrical system comprises a 2,000 W inverter, a 220 Ah battery, a DC/DC charger, and an MPPT charge controller connected to 200 W solar panels on the roof. The plumbing system is pretty good, too, with a 26-gallon (100-liter) freshwater tank, a 20-gallon (75-liter) gray water tank, and a water pump.

Regarding heating, the builders opted for a Truma Combi 2E air and water heater with five outlets throughout the interior. It can be powered via gas, electricity, or both.

All in all, Studio Hideout has created an aesthetically pleasing and practical tiny home on wheels ready to take you wherever you need, even off-grid. This rig currently has around 68,000 miles (109,435 km) and is for sale for £55,000 (about $69,463). You can learn more about this mobile home on Studio Hideout's website.
