Back in May 2023, an Australian multimillionaire caused quite a stir when he asked for his McLaren Senna GTR to be lifted to the penthouse he had just bought at the 57th floor of luxury apartment building in Melbourne. Now the design of the penthouse is ready and this is how the supercar looks in his living room.
Hundreds of people watched as the young millionaire had his supercar craned up to his penthouse apartment. Now the Senna sits in his living room as one of the world’s most extravagant and expensive apartment decorations.

Australian businessman Adrian Portelli had just bought the penthouse in the tower Sapphire by the Gardens for $39 million. It was, at the time, the most expensive apartment in Melbourne. He did the transaction on one condition: he just had to have his McLaren Senna in his living room. There was no elevator big enough for the vehicle. So the only way up was by crane.

To go all the way with the transfer of the car from the ground to the 57th floor of the tower, several windows had to be temporarily taken out. An entire crew placed on a newly mounted platform up there received and maneuvered the car that was craned up and then positioned it inside the penthouse. It was not an easy mission.

A single wind blast could have sent the supercar into any window of the building or off the crane, 57 floors down. But it didn’t, so now, the McLaren is sitting on a turn table overlooking the city. The model ditched the black-red-white livery in favor of a bronze shade, matching the penthouse design.

Back in May, Adrian Portelli’s decision to put the Senna up in his luxury apartment caused quite a lot of controversy. People slammed him for taking the car up there instead of driving it. But the car cannot be registered. It is a race car and it is not street-legal. When Adrian bought it, it was just sitting in the factory, forgotten in some storage unit.

Having reportedly made $350 million, he paid $3 million for a car that he could never drive on public roads. The Senna GTR is powered by McLaren's M840TR 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It generates 814 horsepower (825 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque.

The model is equipped with a massive rear wing which provides 2,204 pounds (1,000 kilograms) of downforce. McLaren also produced road-going versions of the race car in a production run limited to 75 units. But Adrian Portelli went for the racing version.

He recently bought a Koenigsegg Gemera. He needed a family car because his family is getting bigger. A week ago, he took to Instagram to announce that he is having a baby boy.
