If you’re rich enough to afford a car collection of at least 3 vehicles, you’re rich enough to consider a carriage house for them – especially since it actually doubles as the neatest possible man cave, for you and all your like-minded friends.
Somewhere in Wisconsin, there’s a gorgeous, very elegant and self-contained carriage house. Completed by Wade Weissmann Architecture over a period of 4 years at a client’s request, it’s most likely more beautiful and better furnished than regular folks’ homes.

This carriage house is actually a detached garage with self-contained living quarters upstairs, designed in a manner that resembles English cottages through a combination of stone, wood and paneling, and exposed steel. It’s the best of both worlds, actually: a place where you can display your most prized, four-wheel possessions and properly take care of them, and a fancy guest house.

The carriage house has enough space to display 3 vehicles at once and maybe even 4 if you pack them more tightly. It’s comprised of a showroom at the front, a detail bay at the back and the living quarters upstairs.

The showroom comes with tall ceilings and custom-made doors that open all the way up, and custom cabinetry. There’s even a racing simulator farther back, for those times when the owner has friends coming over, either to admire his collectibles or have a proper boys’ night out. For the same purpose, the builder included an English conservatory and a fully-stocked bar.

In the back of the showroom is a detail bay, perfect to keep your collectibles or your everyday vehicles in mint condition. One photo posted to the Wade Weissmann Architecture official Instagram shows a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen about to get some well-deserved TLC.

The upstairs area includes, among other things, a guest living area with fireplace and a full kitchen. The builder would not say how much this custom carriage house set the owner back, but as far as garage inspirations go, this is probably one of the most elegant. Practical, too.
