While some people still believe that downsizing and choosing a minimalist lifestyle means living in a cramped space and lacking basic creature comforts, the demand for tiny houses is growing like an avalanche. Another misconception is that tiny houses are not fit for growing families, but designs like the Magnolia prove that excellent craftsmanship and clever design solutions can turn even the smallest spaces into mansions on wheels that are genuinely comfortable for large families.
This compact family house was designed and crafted by Summit Tiny Homes, a British Columbia-based company with more than a decade of experience in building small dwellings. The builder works on commission, so each of their models is unique and specially tailored to match the owner's specific needs. Once they design a new custom model, it becomes available for the larger public, so prospective clients can customize the initial layout to better suit their lifestyle.

The Magnolia tiny house on wheels is not the largest tiny house out there, but the builders managed to squeeze no less than four bedrooms in its spacious interior, aside from a cozy living room, a beautiful kitchen, a dining nook, and a modern bathroom. The impressively functional layout makes it a great choice for families with kids who decide to live a simpler life. Moreover, this home is characterized by a refined style and comes with the best amenities, making tiny living a breeze for anyone.

In British Columbia, the tiny movement enjoys tremendous popularity, considering people's lifestyle in this part of the world already focuses on minimalism, respect for the environment, and a deeper connection with the outdoors. Summit is one of the best brands in the area and builds homes that are durable and can withstand the hot summers and harsh Canadian winters.

What's more, the team always seeks to innovate and make their designs stand out of the crowd. The Magnolia tiny home is no exception. Built to the highest quality standards, this particular home on wheels catches your eye with its modern, refined style inside and out and intriguing layout.

Built on a triple-axle trailer for ease of transportation and setup, the Magnolia tiny house is 34 feet (10.3 meters) long and 8.5 feet (2.6 meters) wide and raises the bar when it comes to mobile living. Though the interior floorplan is under 300 square feet (approx. 27 square meters), the ingenious use of space makes it possible to integrate plenty of amenities inside, including four bedrooms.

Of course, this being a tiny house we are talking about, they are not full-fledged bedrooms but rather sleeping spaces. There are two lofts that can be used as bedrooms, plus a ground-floor bedroom that was fitted with a bunk-bed system for a total of four separate sleeping areas.

The master loft can be accessed via a storage-integrated staircase and has a privacy wall with storage cubbies in the loft section. It is spacious enough to fit a king-size bed and a couple of nightstands, and generous windows ensure it is bright, airy, and inviting.

The second loft is at the opposite end of the house and can be reached via fixed ladder rungs attached to the sliding bathroom door. There is no privacy wall for this space, having been replaced by an open shelving system.

The designers leveraged the ground floor bedroom's standing height to install two queen beds neatly stacked above one another and increase this home's sleeping capacity. The second level is accessible via fixed ladder rungs, and slim wooden slats offer a sense of protection.

The family residing in this tiny home can get together in the cozy and modern open-plan common area downstairs. A comfy gray couch opposite the full-light entrance door offers a small lounging space, while a large kitchen lies right in the middle of the house.

Outfitted with plenty of cabinets in a neutral gray tone, the kitchen has a modern farmhouse vibe and allows residents to cook all their favorite meals in a gorgeous atmosphere. A wide range of modern appliances make it highly functional. From a four-burner cooktop, an oven, and a range hood to a deep farmhouse-style sink and a refrigerator, there is everything you usually find in a well-equipped conventional kitchen.

Another pleasant surprise inside the Magnolia design is the breakfast bar neatly tucked next to the kitchen. It is foldable so it can easily get out of the way when you need more space to move around and is strategically placed under a huge window to allow you to enjoy the outside views while serving your favorite meals.

Finally, this custom home has a generous bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower cabin, a big vanity with a sink and an under-counter washer/dryer unit, and a toilet. A blue accent wall and exposed beams on the ceiling enhance the sophisticated style of this bathroom.

Actually, the designers used exposed engineered wood beams and wood accents throughout the house, adding a rustic chic touch to the interior. The outside of the house is equally impressive, with two-tone timber siding (black and natural wood) combined with a metal roof. Somber yet peaceful and soothing, this mobile dwelling would fit great in any natural setting, be it by a tranquil lake, by the sea, in the forest, or in the mountains.

Some of the appeals of tiny homes for larger families include the fact that they can be tailored to meet their specific needs. With its four-bedroom configuration, premium amenities, and stylish contemporary design, the Magnolia is proof that compact dwellings can offer the same level of comfort and style as conventional homes.
