Let’s be honest about it, we never cared about disinfecting our valuables and keeping our hands clean as much as we do these days. This is the reason why all products supposed to help us with the whole thing are getting lots of attention these days.
Enter DisMug, a brand-new device whose purpose is to use UV light to disinfect your valuables, no matter where you are, be it at home, at the office, or in the car.

With a cup-based design that perfectly fits a holder in your car, DisMug comes bundled with a rechargeable battery and a USB Type-C connector that allows you to connect the device using the most common cables you can find these days. So if you’re using Android Auto with a latest-generation phone, the same cable would work with DisMug too.

The device comes with three integrated panels, each with three UV LEDs. And this is where all the magic begins; compared to the existing similar products on the market, DisMug comes with an integrated motor and a rotating bottom for complete irradiation during the disinfection process.

In other words, it mixes and moves the things you put inside in such a way that every little part is exposed to the UV light, thus making sure everything is disinfected properly.

The secret is in the ingenious rotating technology powered by an electric motor that can be switched on and off. When the spinning is on, it is able to rotate your smaller valuables (coins, keys), so that the light can reach their entire surface. When the spinning function is off, the device continues to disinfect but remains absolutely quiet,” the parent company explains.

The standard disinfection takes 45 seconds, while a more thorough process is completed in 12 minutes, with an audible alert offered when the whole thing comes to an end. The device is large enough for masks, small mobile phones, credit cards, thin wallets, pens, money, jewelry, or keys.

Posted on Kickstarter for crowdfunding support, DisMug might fail to reach its $36,421 goal as, at the time of writing, it raised just $940 with four days to go. It remains to be seen if the parent company would give the campaign another try at a later time.
