No matter how diverse the tiny house industry gets, some folks will always prefer going back to basics – single-level homes on wheels without lofts, ladders, and staircases. In other words, why make it complicated when you can enjoy total comfort without all the hassle and at lower costs?
Looking at this European brand’s impressive tiny house range, it’s hard to believe that it started out as a small family business. Bartek, the man who founded Mobi House together with his wife, Kasia, was one of the pioneers in the industry. At the time when he became interested in tiny houses, the concept was barely known in Poland and even in Europe. He used his experience of working in Norway as a foundation for a fresh, tiny house construction business, and it worked. Today, this is one of the most successful brands in Europe, with an incredible portfolio.

Mobi House has something for everybody, starting with the smallest single-level tiny houses, all the way up to ultra-spacious models with multiple bedrooms and even roof terraces. The Carnation tiny is one of the most beautiful versions of the brand's single-level designs. It's as minimalistic and delicate-looking on the inside as it is on the outside but full of pleasant surprises at the same time.

The Carnation is just a little over seven meters long (23.6 feet) and 2.5 meters wide (8.2 feet) with regular-height ceilings. The open-plan layout strays from the traditional configurations by including a separate main-floor bedroom, which is a rare and unusual feature for a tiny house in this size category.

This way, The Carnation can delight its owners with both a bedroom and a lounge area instead of a single space with multiple uses. Plus, it flaunts a beautiful double-sided kitchen, while the amount of available storage is almost unbelievable.

The Carnation isn't the popular contemporary-style abode with generous glazing and an indoor/outdoor flow. Instead, it boasts the discrete and dainty charm of a rustic cabin with tiny windows and one main entry. Still, the French doors help bring in more natural light to the lounge area.

This cozy lounge area is the first room that greets you as soon as you step inside. A huge modular sofa (one of the Mobi House trademarks) dominates the entire area. Modular furniture is one of the key features in most tiny homes that boast limited length. This type of sofa saves a great deal of space and is multi-functional. It doubles as a practical storage solution and can also be converted into an extra bed.

On the wall next to it, you'll notice the "classic” folding chairs, another common choice when it comes to small dwellings. Since there's no room for an actual dining nook, The Carnation offers an ad hoc solution.

All that you need to do is set up the pivoting extension at the end of the kitchen countertop and take the folding chairs off the wall, and you have a perfect dining area, as if by magic. It's a clever solution that allows the home dwellers to move freely around the house for the rest of the time without any pesky pieces of furniture getting in the way. With such compact spaces, the circulation flow needs extra attention.

The kitchen is also remarkably spacious in terms of storage, considering the overall surface. There are drawers and overhead cupboards on each side, as well as full-height pantries. The perfect symmetry created by the mirroring windows, shelves, and countertops also creates a relaxing, aesthetically pleasing style.

It's an important part of the Carnation's warm and soft ambiance. The basic appliances, including a ceramic plate, an electric fridge, and a range hood, are also carefully integrated, which contributes to the kitchen's clean, clutter-free style.

Perfect symmetry is also noticeable when looking at each end of the house, where you'll spot discrete sliding doors in contrasting colors. The one next to the lounge area leads into the home's secretive main bedroom. It feels secretive because it's totally separate from the rest of the house and protected by the barn door. Don't expect a lavish master bedroom. This is a really compact space with zero walk-around space. You literally have four walls, a bed frame, and an adorable overhead cabinet.

It might feel a bit cramped for some, but it's still easier to access and more comfortable than a loft bedroom of a similar size. Plus, the large window is a great addition that ensures proper ventilation, plenty of natural light, and even a nice view when you wake up in the morning. At the opposite end, a compact but elegant bathroom reveals all the basic appliances you'd need, including a decent-sized shower cabin and a tiny vanity.

The Carnation successfully combines a fairytale-like exterior with an ingenious and unexpected layout. It truly maximizes spaces by adding a main-floor bedroom while also creating an airy and minimalistic ambiance without any clutter. Like all Mobi House designs, the Carnation tiny can also be customized and optimized for sustainable, eco-friendly living.
