This Classic 911 Comes with RVDP, the Best Porsche Acronym Ever

Modern day Porsches have learned how to twist their internal organs, adapting to the requirements of the driver and the road, with this being one of their strongest assets.
Zuffenhausen is betting on the engineering fetish card, with Porsche's alphabet soup now being vast enough to require a serious dedicated feature.

And while you should know your PASM (active suspension) from your PSM (stability control), these systems aren't without their drawbacks. For instance, they add weight, and while that's OK when it comes to models such as the Cayenne or the Panamera, the automaker has had to go through quite a revolution when introducing PDCC (active stabilizer bars) on the 911.

Well, things haven't always been so. Back in the day of the air-cooled Neunelfers, Porsche relied on what has remained the best acronym out there - RVDP.

We're talking about Real Visceral Driving Pleasure. With its pure rear-engined character, a classic 911 doesn't need any driving aid, as it thrills the one behind the wheel beyond the powers of imagination relying on its mechanical self alone.

And while we have to admit the acronym mentioned above isn't real, we're not the ones guilty for that (our own Porsche acronym has to do with Le Mans). Instead, "RVDP" comes from a short movie, one you can find below.

We've always loved shorts and when one of these productions includes a retro 911, we obviously have to share the thing with you.

Complaining about such a production being too short is like whining about oversteer in a 911 and yet we can't help but wish this clip was longer.

P.S.: Before you head out there in search for the keys to a classic 911, you should know these are the kind of sportscars that don't know the meaning of forgiveness, so you'd better train your right foot well. You have been warned.
