Volkswagen Golf Mk2 was one of the best-selling models released by the German company during the ‘80s, with over 6.3 million units estimated to have been built at various plants across the world.
Manufactured between 1983 and 1992, the Mk2 obviously benefited from the success of its predecessor, but at the same time, it also introduced a series of changes of its own to maintain the customer appeal at high levels.

For example, the Mk2 was a little bit larger than the first-generation model, and it was the first one to be sold in the United States as Golf after its predecessor launched there as Volkswagen Rabbit.

This custom Volkswagen Golf is a Mk2 from the last model year of the generation and comes painted in a unique Voodoo Blue finish, with several parts borrowed from its newer siblings, but also from other brands.

For example, the engine that powers the whole thing is the ’97 GTI VR6, which according to the owner, has 87,000 miles (140,000 km) on the clock. The engine has been further tuned with ECU updates, new headers, and a BBM short ram intake.

One of the first things you’ll notice when looking at this Golf is the wide G60 fender flares, but also the unexpected Porsche door handles which have been installed just because. The custom Golf uses an airlift suspension system that allows you to adjust it on the go. And to complete the custom exterior look, you also get 3-piece CCW wheels and new Nitto NEOGEN tires.

Inside, the Mk2 features Golf Mk5 GTI front seats and custom leather upholstery, with a fuel suede headliner and a manually-operated sunroof. For some reason, it comes with a half cage in the back build by Autopower and features a NARDI 3-spoke leather steering wheel that is fully removable.

Needless to say, this is quite a unique Golf Mk2 overall, and it’s definitely priced accordingly. Sold on eBay, this Golf can be yours for $19,500.
