During this time of year we’re usually preoccupied with finding the perfect gift for our significant other, but it’s never too early to prepare for upcoming summer festivities. Better yet, there’s a chance to have one addendum that will make anyone feel like it’s the Fourth of July every single day of the year.
I’m not sure if my wife will be very happy to see me show up with nothing in hand come February 14th, but these days I keep finding all sorts of cool automotive stuff instead of the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day.
For example, the neat 1959 Chevy Corvette from Animal House will be coming up for sale soon. Still, I’m already (secretly) preparing the check book for a possible bid on a clean-black 1978 Jeep J10 that mesmerized me with its timeless looks and its neat Golden Eagle strip package.
Think again, I’d better not ruffle her feathers (just in case she’s reading this, you know) and settle on something that’s decidedly more affordable. Such as the interesting Stars and Stripes decal that’s available for the late-model year Chevrolet Silverados.
And that also takes us to a recent find from the timeless Chevy C10 category. This 1986 Chevrolet C10 Stepside is coming up for sale on consignment from Carlisle Auctions during the 2021 Lakeland Winter Collector Car Auction (February 19th and 20th, Sun 'n Fun Expo Campus in Lakeland, Florida).
A single look at the custom paint job will make it crystal clear this might turn out as the next best thing that happened to its future owner when arriving at the next Independence Day tailgate party, but that’s just part of the story for this C10 Stepside.
According to the description, it’s a highly decorated veteran show truck that has received many trophies since it underwent a complete frame-off restoration with no expenses spared.
This Chevy is easily going to stand out in any crowd, but just in case the patriotic paint job isn’t enough (some people are so prim, right?), the C10 also comes with a lit engine bay so everyone can appreciate the brand-new GM Performance ZZ4 350ci V8 crate engine tucked inside.
