Emir Megayacht Concept Comes With Two Helipads, Insane Luxury

UK-based superyacht design studio Gresham Yacht Design doesn’t like playing by the rules, and the latest exercise to come out under this name is proof of that.

Here is Emir, a megayacht concept like no other.

With a visually striking design comprised mostly of sinuous, flowing lines, Emir packs the kind of ultra-luxe amenities that would be a much better fit inside a 5-star resort on land. It’s not all about living life on a grand scale, though: Emir would also be as green as current technology would allow it.

Gresham Yacht Design often takes a different approach to design from its peers. Its most recent concept to make waves (pun intended) in international media was the superyacht explorer Thor Explore, which was conceived from the inside out and came out as if ripped out of sci-fi movies.

Pushing the boundaries is what the studio does best – and here it is happening again, with Emir. Emir is a five-deck, 120-meter (394-foot) megayacht that has two helipads (because one is never enough), ultra-luxe amenities, and the most impressive interior.

Like with Thor Explore, Gresham Design has created in Emir the equivalent of a floating 5-star resort. The show-stopping feature is the double-height main salon, which the studio labels a “ballroom.” It features floor-to-ceiling angled windows for the best views out at sea, a winding staircase, high ceilings, and a walk-around balcony on the upper level, which gives way to external balconies and private lounge areas.

Renders of this ballroom show it flush with rich wood, neutral-colored textures as well as expansive glazing and modern art. That said, while it’s definitely decadently luxurious, it doesn’t come across as overbearing or tacky.

Speaking of decadent, Emir is just that. It features a secondary salon situated on the owner’s deck. The owner gets his or her own master suite, private deck, and private salon, which comes with a private bar, game room, and formal dining area.

Because this megayacht is designed around the idea of personal comfort taken to the absolute max, the owner’s deck comes with its own helipad. Situated on top, it can be hidden within the superstructure by means of expanding bulwarks and offers direct access to the salon and the decks below via a glass elevator.

A secondary helipad is located at the front of Emir, offering guests the chance to come and go as they need without any disturbance whatsoever of the owner in his or her palatial abode.

Other amenities include a private jacuzzi, a cantilevered pool aft, with a massive beach club right underneath, and incredible amounts of open space. Next to the beach club is the gym and wellness center (no respectable megayacht can be seen without one) and an open-air cinema. Another dining area on the mezzanine aft deck offers seating for up to 36 guests for al fresco eating.

Despite Emir’s all-white, lavish exterior and luxurious interior that seem to invite only lazy lounges in the sun and the occasional swim, the megayacht comes with a packed tender garage for the more adventurous spirits that would board it. Tenders and a variety of toys, as well as a dive center for scuba divers, would round up the fun on this unique vessel.

Gresham Yacht Design did not elaborate on propulsion or possible range of Emir, but it did say it would be green. Among the features that would push for sustainable sailing would be a biodigester to eliminate organic waste, NOX, and harmful particulates.

Emir is just a concept right now, but it will only be so until the right billionaire comes along. Or so one hopes.
