If you thought that ultra-compact tiny homes could only be basic and unpretentious, the Sunset tiny house might just change your mind. This cool abode's sleek, stylish, and entirely modern interior is a testament to the art of simplicity in its highest form.
Tiny houses that are designed and built in Australia and New Zealand share a particular vibe that successfully marries a passion for the outdoors with the highest standards of luxury housing design. These dwellings look nothing like old-school cabins or fairytale-like wooden homes. They are 100% contemporary, urban, and stylish, even though they're also rugged enough to withstand the challenges of the local natural environment.

The beautifully-named Sunset tiny house is one of the finest examples of what contemporary Australian home design is all about. This incredibly compact mobile dwelling is just six meters long (19.6 feet) and 3.6 meters high (11.8 feet), with a regular width of under 2.5 meters (8 feet). Accommodation-wise, it's ideally suited for a couple, boasting a total floor space of a little over 14 square meters (150.6 square feet).

The Sunset tiny is deceivingly simple, with no lofts, stairs, or hidden features. Everything is located on the main floor and integrated within the modern, open-plan layout that enhances spaciousness. One of the keys to this home's luxurious, contemporary style is the ample glazing. As small as it is, the Sunset dedicated a large portion to oversized windows and glass doors. The panoramic window at the rear is particularly important because it creates the illusion of an entire wall made of glass. It ensures the best views from the bedroom while flooding it with natural light.

A compact dwelling such as this one could easily start to feel too restrictive, but the strategic placement of extra-large windows prevents it. With beautiful views all around and abundant sunshine throughout the day, this home is ideally connected to the outdoors. It feels immersed in the natural surroundings, and that's exactly what most tiny living enthusiasts are looking for. Huge windows are also found on either side of the kitchen, creating the illusion of an indoor/outdoor social area.

The breakfast bar, one of the signature Australian and Kiwi tiny house features, is an important element inside the Sunset tiny. It's an elegant and practical solution for dining in a small space without taking up any extra room. The bar itself is beautifully crafted out of Tasmanian Oak, and so is the kitchen countertop. These handmade items add a personal touch and a sophisticated layer to the overall interior style.

The open-plan kitchen also allows ample storage in the form of multiple cupboards underneath the countertop. There's no overhead storage, which allows the inclusion of full-height windows while also preventing overcrowding. The kitchen setup takes advantage of the home's length while staying within the limits of an ultra-clean, minimalistic aesthetic. It's fitted with a large stainless steel sink, an electric cooktop, and a bar fridge.

Additional storage is available in the bed box with built-in compartments. Two people can comfortably rest in this queen-sized bed that also has the advantage of being on floor level. Many people find loft bedrooms and ladders too uncomfortable. On the other hand, this floor-level setup is great for folks of all ages. During the day, the bed can double as a cozy lounge nook by the windows, also connecting to the outdoors through the sliding glass doors at the main entry. It's a versatile space that makes the most of the available space.

The tiled bathroom is just as luxurious and modern, sporting a full-size shower (an unexpected treat, considering the compact dimensions of the house) and a large sink as the basics. High-quality materials and appliances are also key in making a small dwelling feel contemporary and luxurious. The Sunset boasts full insulation and waterproof hybrid floors and is also solar-ready. An electric hot water system and a split air conditioning system are also part of its basic features, with additional options available for future owners.

What makes Tiny House by Hangan extra special, apart from the exquisite design, is the trailer quality. The Australian brand that was originally launched as Tiny Homes Australia later joined forces with Hangan Steel to create high-quality, custom trailers for its tiny houses. Future owners can, therefore, customize not only their home but also the trailer it's built on.

All of them are 2.4 meters wide in order to keep the completed house under 2.5 meters, but they vary in length. Plus, customers can choose between flat-top trailers, which are hassle-free and allow for more flexible construction, or drop deck trailers, which are more compatible with loft tiny house designs.

The Sunset is one of the tiniest designs in the Tiny House by Hangan range, which makes it ideal for those who want an affordable, easy-to-maintain, and flexible abode without sacrificing high comfort levels and style choices.
